This yoga program alternates gentle seated and standing yoga practices, and is suitable for a quick break pretty much anywhere you can spread your arms, with no need to touch the ground.

Fitness Level: Beginner friendly.

Equipment: Half the workouts use a chair; for the others, a yoga mat can be nice but is not required.

Duration: About 5 minutes (4-7 minutes).

Quick exercise breaks including chair yoga have many benefits for office workers. One study found that yoga and meditation significantly reduced perceived stress. Another study found 5 minute "micro" breaks of exercise every hour improved mood, and decreased feelings of fatigue. Taking a few minutes every now and then to move can improve your productivity, focus, and mood throughout the day!

Fitness Level: Beginner friendly and beyond. The videos grow a little in difficulty.

Equipment: Nothing required; a soft surface like a yoga mat is nice. The first video shows ways to use a chair to make some exercises easier.

Duration: 20-27 minutes.

This program would be great to do every 2nd or 3rd day, to get some rest in between strength training sessions, but you could do the mobility workout any time to help improve your range of motion. The Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommend at least 2 days of strength exercises per week, and these short videos are a great place to start building up that habit!

Fitness Level: You should be comfortable with body weight movements like squats and plank..

Equipment: One or more Mini Loop style resistance bands. A few moves may benefit from having a longer resistance band for better range of motion depending on your exact mini bands and strength. One video also uses dumbbells and a chair.

Duration: 17-35 minutes, mostly over 25 minutes

Mini loop bands are the smallest kind of resistance band, and are a thin loop of stretchy material about 12" long when folded. These small bands are also sometimes called booty bands or hip bands as they can be particularly good at targeting your glutes, but there's plenty of ways to target your arms, legs, core, and back as well! They can add a little extra resistance to body weight exercises and also have a lot of pulling options which are harder to work into a no equipment routine. The stretch of resistance bands works your muscles a little differently than working with weights so they're great to mix things up a little. If you are a bit more advanced on your fitness journey they make a great warm up or accessory tool.

Latex rubber mini loop bands are super cheap - you can get a set of 3-5 for under $10, or even pick them up as free swag, but in some positions such as around your thighs they have a tendency to roll up which can be a little uncomfortable. Fabric bands are a few dollars more and are better at staying in place for leg exercises, but tend to have fewer levels of resistance available and aren't as good for upper body exercises as they stretch less. Latex free bands are also available using materials like silicone.

Resistance bands are often color coded within a set, but there's no consistency across brands. Most often they come in bold colors but if you look around you can find a wide range of colors!

Fitness Level: Complete Beginners, and beyond with heavier dumbbells and faster movements

Equipment: Some videos use dumbbells. Cans or water bottles work too, particularly if you're a beginner!

Duration: 11-24 minutes, alternating shorter and longer videos

This workout loop has many videos suitable for absolute beginners, but, even if you're in good shape and working around an ankle or knee injury, you might be surprised at the level of workout you can get while sitting down! There's a mix of cardio, strength, and stretching, and the difficulty generally builds up over the 8 videos.

Chair workouts are low impact and non-weight bearing, and may be appropriate if you've experienced pain in your knees or hips with other workouts. As with any fitness program talk to your doctor if you have any concerns about your ability to workout.

If you can't do a movement yet, or need to take breaks, that's ok - you can try it again on your next round through the loop! If you're new to your fitness habit, you could do one video each day, while if you're used to working out and looking for a bit longer workout, you can always do more than one video in a day.

Not every video will be suitable for every need - but you can easily customize your Workout Loop using the Edit tab! Start by changing the title to make it yours.

Creative Commons has several different licenses with different restrictions, such as non commercial use only or no derivative works, so make sure a specific Creative Commons license works for your content! The services mentioned in this article have terms friendly for posting online videos as an independent creator, but if you're representing a brand, making advertisements, or other uses not all of them will be suitable. Always check the license and if in doubt that it's suitable for your use case consult a lawyer.

These are at a pretty common level for a yoga video or class - they assume you know what the basic poses are but they're not doing any particularly advanced poses. Beginners may find some of the videos challenging while more advanced yogis may enjoy this loop when looking for a shorter, gentler practice. There's some variety from deep stretching to more vigorous practices, so over the course of two weeks you'll cover a lot of different poses and types of practices. I can't keep up with every single pose and do it perfectly, but if I could that would be a sign I should find some more challenging videos! The program is arranged so that there's no particularly long or short, or particularly intense or easy practices back to back.

Writer James Clear emphasizes starting with incredibly small habits, and then once you've established the habit you can build on it. These videos are perfect for focusing on forming a tiny habit; I recommend picking a specific time of day when you will work out and try to stick to it, no matter how short. And if you have time, you can always do more than one!

For me, I started doing short yoga on work days right after waking up and going to the bathroom, and I started with 5-10 minute videos and now I do about 20 minutes most days in addition to other workouts. I included one of my favorite quick yoga videos from when I was starting out, as well as more varied workouts. But I always found a lot of friction navigating to my playlist and choosing something, which is why I made Workout Loop to simplify the process!

No equipment is required; one video optionally uses light dumbbells. Most of the moves are low impact or have low impact options.

Low Impact, High Intensity2022-02-15T00:00:00Zhttps://www.plankido.com/posts/low_impact_high_intensity/
Low impact workouts don't involve moves like jumping, running, etc. This makes them ideal if you're working out in an apartment or other scenario where you don't want to make too much noise, or when you need to be easier on your joints. That doesn't mean they have to be low intensity though!

Introducing Workout Loop2022-02-11T00:00:00Zhttps://www.plankido.com/posts/introducing_workout_loop/

Workout Loop: No autoplay, no recommendations, just your workouts.

I created Workout Loop because I've been frustrated with the YouTube interface while doing a morning Yoga practice using YouTube videos. I'd collected some videos in a playlist but I would still have to go in through several menus with lots of distractions and then think about which video to do that day. And then when I'm done, the next video in the playlist starts automatically, because playlists are really designed for watching several videos in a row, not one a day. I just want to do my workout, not think too hard before I've had caffeine!

To start using Workout Loop, create a list of videos in the Edit tab, and come back whenever it's time for a workout to do the next video in the sequence. When you get to the end, it loops back to the start. I also post short programs regularly on the blog, tagged Workout Loop. For more details on how to use Workout Loop, take a look at the Help tab on Workout Loop.
